We Lead

We Lead: Women. Elevated. is an inclusive leadership institute experience for women across the Mid-South.

We Lead seeks to encourage, empower, and equip women of all backgrounds with the courage, confidence, and character required to serve as inspiring role models and catalysts for change wherever they live, work, and volunteer.

THE MISSION of We Lead is to provide accessible, quality leadership training to women of all backgrounds helping them to develop into ethical, culturally competent, civic-minded leaders with the practical skills and personal integrity needed to make a positive impact in every facet of their lives. 

Open to all registered GSHS female adults ages 23 and older across the Mid-South, We Lead participants will meet monthly to learn from a wide variety of experts about topics and characteristics or attributes vital to today’s most successful leaders. We Lead participants will meet to network and learn from a wide variety of experts about topics and characteristics or attributes vital to today's most successful leaders including:

  • leadership
  • resiliency
  • cultural competency and respect for others
  • communication skills and conflict negotiation
  • mentoring
  • work/life balance
  • personal branding

ABOUT WE LEAD

We Lead is open to all registered GSHS female adults ages 23 and older across the Mid-South.

About the 2019 WE LEAD Meetings:

Meetings will be held on the first and third Tuesdays on the month from April 2 – June 18, 2019.  See the calendar below for specific dates. All meetings will take place from 6:00-7:30 PM (unless otherwise specified below) at the Possibility Place located at the Girl Scouts Heart of the South Memphis Office at 717 S. White Station Road, Memphis, TN 38117.

  • Registration for the 2019 Cohort will end on March 31st.

·         Session 1: Tuesday, April 2, 2019.  This session will be from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Introductions will be held as well as a panel discussion and overview of the rest of the sessions. Please be  prepared to introduce yourself – Name, Occupation, Volunteer position with GSHS and three interesting things about you that you want to share with the group.  

·         Session 2: Tuesday, April 16, 2019

·         Session 3: Tuesday, May 7, 2019

·         Session 4: Tuesday, May 21, 2019

·         Session 5: Tuesday, June 4, 2019

·         Session 6: Tuesday, June 18, 2019. This session will meet from 6 – 8:30 p.m. The graduation ceremony will follow the session from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.
