Workshop Facilitators

Workshop facilitators are businesses, organizations, or community experts that host workshops for Girl Scouts. These partners follow the requirements necessary to meet the skill building badges or other program requirements for the various age levels of Girl Scouting. Partners decide the costs, materials needed, schedule, and all other details for each Girl Scout troop that reaches out to them. Girl Scouts Heart of the South publicizes the opportunities that your organization offers to host and the registration instructions.

The Apple Store

The Apple Store in Germantown, TN offers badge workshops for Girl Scouts at their storefront! All technology and materials are provided for the workshops, so no need to come with your own Apple products! Girl Scout Cadettes will learn how to film, edit, and publish their own short film. Juniors can head to apple to earn their Entertainment Technology badge by working in GarageBand and creating some rockin’ tunes, or learn all about the inner workings of the iPad or Apple Watch, while earning their Product Designer Badge.

Dixon Gallery and Gardens

The Dixon Gallery and Gardens in Memphis, TN is offering a variety of outdoor and art badges for Girl Scouts.  Girl Scout Brownies can earn their Senses, Hiker, Painting, or Potter badge. Juniors can earn their Gardener, Flowers, Jeweler, or Drawing badge.

All badge workshops take place at the beautiful Dixon Gallery and Gardens. Setting up a badge workshop is easy!

Some workshops will have a small material cost associated with them.

Incredible Pizza Patch Program

Troops can schedule meetings or events through Incredible Pizza and receive an Incredible Pizza Patch! You can work with Incredible Pizza to create a program involving the food service industry, crafts, healthy living, science, or technology. Sylvan Learning Center

Sylvan Learning Center is partnering with the Council to host several workshops to introduce Girl Scouts to Lego Robotics, engage them in workshops to guide girls into earning badges.

OTC Medication Safety Program

Through the OTC Medicine Safety Campaign troops can begin to familiarize themselves with the safe use and storage of over-the-counter medicines. This program is an enlightening look into a topic that plays into our lives every day. The workshop is free and can be scheduled through Sarah Pope (sarhunt@uthsc.edu).
