Our goal is to help Girl Scout families understand the value of your support for Girl Scouts Heart of the South. All dollars raised through our Family Partnership directly support our girls. We want to invite all families to participate. As Girl Scouts celebrates our 100th Anniversary, this is an opportunity
for parents to support one of the most significant organizations for
girls in the world.

Top Ten Reasons to Give
- Girl Scout parents and families understand the value of Girl Scouting better than anyone else.
- At Girl Scouts Heart of the South we work every day to equip girls with the courage to be strong, the confidence to lead and the character to make a difference.
- Family Partnership gifts help ensure that our council’s programs, resources, camps and buildings are maintained and made available to all girls and leaders at a minimal cost.
- Family Partnership gifts help train our volunteer leaders to provide a safe, quality experience for all girls
- Family Partnership gifts help keep our commitment that no girl is ever denied participation in Girl Scouts Heart of the South for financial reasons.
- Girl Scouts Heart of the South receives no financial support from Girl Scouts USA membership fees. Your $12 membership dues help Girl Scouts of the USA research, develop and deliver quality programs, including badges, Journeys and Bronze, Silver & Gold Awards.
- Troop dues belong to the troops and help underwrite the cost of troop activities. None of that money goes to the council’s operating budget.
- Our MagNut and Girl Scout Cookie programs generate needed funds for our council and troops, but more is needed to meet the needs of our girls. Broad-based support from families, individuals, corporations and foundations is essential to maintain the quality of programs and to fully serve all of our girls.
- Grants from 11 local United Ways provide for program support and some of our operating costs. However, these funds total approximately 7% of our annual budget.
- Your support demonstrates that Girl Scouting is a wise investment and helps gain support when we request funding from corporations and foundations.
Families may make donations on the Family Partnership form, annual registration forms or online.
