On
a beautiful October morning riders peddled their way through scenic Tippah
County, MS in the Inaugural Tour de Tippah. The 4.5 mile fun ride and longer 27
and 48 mile loops let people meander through the rolling hills and back roads
of Tippah County all the while enjoying the colors and coolness of fall. This
inaugural community-wide event was organized by Girl Scout Ambassador Geordi
Talley, an avid cyclist herself, who wanted to introduce bike riding and
cycling to people of all ages and show how much fun it can be as well as
highlight its health benefits.
In addition to the Tour de Tippah, Geordi is
organizing a community bicycling club, starting a campaign against litter and
refurbishing the Tippah County Development Center all in hopes of earning her
Girl Scout Gold Award this spring.
