Have an hour to give?

We can find the right fit for you!

Flexible and Fun

Girl Scouts Heart of the South offers many flexible ways for adults to volunteer in Girl Scouts. We have wonderful volunteer opportunities for adult women and men to contribute to helping build girls of courage, confidence, and character who will make the world a better place.

Whatever your background, interests, or schedule, Girl Scouts needs your experience and energy! We offer many opportunities for adults to work with girls and other adults, in large and small groups, near your home or at our offices and outdoor program properties.

Getting Started.

Being a Girl Scout volunteer is as easy as 1-2-3! Complete the three steps below so we can ensure you the best possible experience with Girl Scouts.

Step 1

Fill out the Girl Scout Volunteer Application.

Tell us more about yourself. How and where would you like to volunteer? What age girls would you like to work with?

Fill out the Online Volunteer Application or download the Volunteer Application PDF version to fill out and submit.

Step 2

Complete the Volunteer Background Check.

For the safety of the girls, we ask that volunteers complete a criminal background check.  We appreciate your dedication to keeping our girls safe!

Start the Volunteer Background Check now or download the Volunteer Background Authorization PDF version to fill out and submit.

Step 3

Match the Council's Needs to Your Interests.

Girl Scouts Heart of the South offers many flexible ways for adults to volunteer in Girl Scouts. From one hour to one year, we have opportunities for you to work with girls and other adults, in large and small groups, near your home or at our offices and outdoor program properties!

PATHWAYS MAKES PARTICIPATING EASY

With the development of Girl Scout Pathways—the ways that girls and adults participate in Girl Scouting—there are now several flexible ways for adults like you to get involved by simply matching your expertise, skills, interests, and life experience to the volunteer opportunities available at councils. As a volunteer, you can work directly with girls through any of the six pathways for girls.

Support and Training

Volunteering with Girl Scouts will be a wonderful learning opportunity for you. We offer support and a great variety of trainings throughout the year.

Orientation, training, and guidance are provided to all our volunteers. We want every volunteer to have the tools they need to be successful and feel rewarded. We offer extensive learning opportunities for adult volunteers throughout the Heart of the South. It’s always easy to find the training you need at a convenient time, in a nearby location.
