Before you get started on the Volunteer Background Check, please read the following instructions to make this process go smoothly.

Volunteer Background Check Instructions

1. Log on to our secure page, https://girlscoutshsselfpay.volunteerportal.net

2. Read the entire Welcome Page to understand what all the Volunteer Background Check will entail. If you agree to the background check, please enter password: girlscouts and click "I Agree".

3. Enter your personal information. (No worries - this is a secured site.(

a. All fields marked with a “*” are required. Once completed click "Next".

5. Review all information on the Summary Page to ensure its accuracy before proceeding. If correct, click "Next".
    If you need to make any corrections you can click on the “Edit” link or the “Previous” button to return to the Personal Information page.

6. Clicking the "Next" button will send you to a third-party provider to process your billing information. Please be sure to allow popups before clicking "Next".

7. Enter payment information and click “Save” Clicking "Save" does not charge your account at this time.The cost of the background check is $1.50. If you are not able to afford this cost, please use the this link to complete the Volunteer Background Check and request financial assistance.

8. Review payment information and click “Submit” to process.

Unable to finish in one session?

If you are not able to finish the Volunteer Background Check during a session, make sure click Save before you Quit. You will be provided with a Reference Code to enter when you return to the site to pick up where you left off. If you Quit without clicking Save, the system will not save your information. Your background check will not be run and you will need to start over from the beginning when you return.

o When returning to the site, click on this link on the Welcome Page: “If you are returning to finish a previous search, then click here.”

o Enter your last name and reference number to resume your previous search.
