This is an adult training that qualifies a person to take a group/troop on a backpacking trip to primitive areas where there are no bathroom facilities or provided water. We will show you proper equipment use, waste disposal, water filtration, emergency procedures, and meal planning. The training will consist of a prep meeting overnight and one night on the trail.

Participants will meet at Camp Tik-A-Witha on Friday evening where we will talk about some backpacking basics and have dinner and spend the night. The next morning, we will leave for the Sipsey Wilderness in Alabama.

Important: We will provide transportation to and from the trail head. This will be over a mile hike in with a pack weighing 15 to 18 lbs and the same on the way out. This will be primitive camping and there will be no bathrooms. Equipment rental is included in the cost of the training. Camp Skills training (Former TCL) is a pre-requisite for this course.
