Chief Development Officer

Girl Scouts Heart of the South is seeking an exceptional and inclusive leader to serve as Chief Development Officer (CDO). Working out of the Memphis office, the CDO serves as a key executive leadership team member and active participant in making organizational strategic decisions to finance the organization’s growth and development.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CDO is responsible for the design and implementation of a comprehensive plan for developing key community alliances by cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding philanthropic support from individuals, corporations, and foundations.

The Chief Development Officer will bring a genuine passion for the mission of Girl Scouts coupled with proven experience as a fundraising and organizational development professional, with management experience and demonstrated track record of high-level fundraising. The CDO collaborates with the council’s Chief Executive Officer in translating the vision and corporate goals set by the council’s Board of Directors, into effective, operational strategies and actions to meet the council’s financial goals and objectives. The CDO will oversee and manage a team of fund development professionals with a high degree of self-direction and initiative. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CDO will model and support effective, ongoing cross-departmental partnerships that intersect fundraising, board governance, programming, and infrastructure.
The position is full-time with a competitive benefit package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as generous paid time off and a retirement plan. The minimum starting salary for this position is $70,000 and is commensurate with experience.
