Contactless Payment Options

With ongoing recommendations of social distancing, we understand parents, cookie managers and co-troop leaders' concerns about troop gatherings. We hear your concerns and have compiled a list of ways that you can make cookie payments in lieu of traditional in-person payments.

Please discuss the best option for your girl's troop with her troop co-leaders or cookie manager.

Digital Options:

  • Digital Cookies Mobile App: Use the contactless payment option through the Digital Cookie Mobile App. New this year!  You can scan a customer’s card with your phone camera to capture their payment information securely into the Digital Cookie Mobile App without ever touching their card. Download in App Store or Google Play.
  • PayPal: An online payment system that supports online money transfers and serves as an electronic alternative to traditional paper methods like checks and money orders. To avoid any possible fees, make sure to select the “gift or family and friends” option.  Users can create an online account, or download in App Store or Google Play.
  • Venmo: A mobile payment service owned by PayPal. Venmo account holders can transfer funds to others via a mobile phone app for free.
  • Cash App: A mobile payment service developed by Square and allows users to transfer money to one another using a mobile app for free.  Download in App Store or Google Play.

Bank Deposit Options:
Request the account number for the troop’s bank account and use the bank's drive thru to deposit the funds directly into the troop's bank account. Send your troop co-leader and/or cookie manager a picture of the receipt.

Drop Off Option:
Discuss a time that your troop co-leader or cookie manager will be home to drop off payment at a designated location. Call or text your co-leader or cookie manager when you are there to leave payment so they can collect it immediately upon you leaving.

Whichever method is used by parents to send their cookie payments to the troop, the troop co-leader or troop cookie manager should write a receipt and text them a picture for their records.

Whether your troop is concluding their program on Sunday, March 22, or extending it until May 8, a cookie payment will be automatically withdrawn from the troop's bank account on April 6. The percentage withdrawn will be determined by the cookie program extension option selected by the troop. Please work with troop co-leaders and your cookie manager to make payments so that your troop's account balance will satisfy the ACH withdrawal amount.

If you have additional questions, or need further guidance please call us at 800-624-4185, email us at info@girlscoutshs.org or chat with us online at www.girlscoutshs.org.

In-Person Sales

This year presents the opportunity to get creative and crush your cookie goals! We've talked to seasoned cookie volunteers, sellers and families to gather these ideas to help your girl be successful in her cookie business.

Porch Delivery/ Pick-Up
Through Digital Cookie girls can sell online and deliver cookies (once approved by parents) to customers by leaving them on their porch.

Girls should always deliver with an adult, and confirm with the customer the delivery date and location where to leave the cookies.

Cookie "Lemonade" Stands
Encourage families to set up lemonade style stands in their driveways or entrance to their neighborhood.

Consider doing this for evening commuters, or after-school crowds. Remember, never let a girl go up to a car, and make sure to have an adult with girls at all times.

Cookie "Yard Sale" Signs
Host a drive-by cookie booth sale in your driveway or neighborhood park.  Put out "cookie sale" signs at major intersections to let customers know how to find you. This is a great idea to host on a Saturday morning.

Make "cookie sale" signs with your Digital Cookie URL, or a QR code for drivers to order cookies on the go.

Walkabouts
Get out in your neighborhood with cookies to increase your sales! With cookies in hand, girls can take contactless payment in the Digital Cookie app.

To avoid face-to-face selling consider leaving a doorknob order card with your Digital Cookie URL, or QR code for customers to order.

Create a Cookie Mobile
Families can have a lot of fun decorating their cars to let customers know they have cookies. Use car magnets, car chalk or even removable vinyl and get creative.

Don't forget to put your Digital Cookie URL or a QR code somewhere for customers to order online.

Drive Thru or Curbside Cookie Booths
Perfect for popular parking lots, drive thru cookie booths give customers the ease of purchasing cookies without leaving their cars! This open-air idea gives girls the opportunity to sell cookies and take contactless payment through the Digital Cookie app. Make sure to discuss safety guidelines and never let a girl approach a car.

Girl Scout Cookie Booths - Feb. 12 - March 14

Girl Scout Cookie Booths start on February 12, and run for four weekends, concluding March 14 with National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend on February 19-21.

Ask your troop leaders about setting up a cookie booth to reach your cookie goal even faster!

Red Wagon Saturday Promotion - February 27

Deadline to submit photos has passed.

Pile up cookies in your wagon and sell directly to customers on Red Wagon Saturday!

Who can resist delicious Girl Scout Cookies when a Girl Scout is at their front door with their favorite cookies?!

Door-to-door sales remains one of the most effective ways to sell cookies. In a recent national study, 78% of those customers who were not approached during a cookie sale stated they would have purchased 2-4 boxes if asked.

Red Wagon Saturday was designed to reach those customers and help girls achieve their cookies goals, all while getting outdoors and meeting neighbors.

EARN A PATCH! HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:
Grab a wagon and have her decorate it! Make sure to include a sign or banner with her cookie goal! Next, map out your neighborhood and load up on cookies for a Red Wagon Saturday cookie shop on wheels!

Remember, safety first! Girls need a grown-up.  You can do this with your girl or meet up as a troop.

PICTURES MUST BE SUBMITTED FOR INDIVIDUAL GIRLS IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A PATCH. NO GROUP ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. Deadline to submit pictures and earn a patch was March 22, 2021.

Troop to Troops Military Donations

The Troop to Troops (T2T) program provides a perfect opportunity to send cookies to our military men and women who are protecting our freedom. Cookies are sent to our brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, sons and daughters who are putting their lives on hold to protect the freedoms dear to us all.  This is a great way to grow your cookie sales and support our military troops!

When girls take orders, they simply ask customers if they would like to donate boxes of cookies to be sent overseas to our military.  If the customer wishes to purchase some, they indicate this in the white column on the girl order form.  Customers do not specify flavors.

If a customer wants certain cookies sent to a specific soldier, they need to purchase them and mail them to the soldier of their choice.  Girl Scouts Heart of the South does not have control over where the cookies are sent once they are delivered to the military.
