Girl Scouts love to travel—from the field trips they take as Brownies to the global adventures they go on as teens. If you love exploring different places and cultures, then Girl Scouts is the place for you. From a weekend getaway to an international excursion, we have travel opportunities to fit your experience!
Check out the Girl Scout Travel Progression Chart to make sure you're planning the right trips for your troop level.
Leaders, as soon as you decide to start planning a trip, read Volunteer Essentials for general guidelines and the Safety Activity Checkpoints to learn more about activities girls may want to participate in on their trip.
You'll need the following forms for your trip:
Volunteers who drive vehicles for Girl Scout trips must meet the following requirements.
Accidents and violation records will be reviewed by GSHS staff. A driving restriction may be placed on an individual prohibiting them from driving members on behalf of GSHS based on the number and severity of violations or accidents.
The primary volunteer in charge of a Girl Scout outing or trip should inquire with all drivers that they are volunteers, without a driving restriction, have a valid driver's license, and a current auto insurance policy. A Driver and Vehicle Information form must be completed by each driver and retained by the troop leader or primary volunteer. In addition, the Driver Review & Approval Form must be completed annually and submitted to your Membership Manager for approval.
Once your plans are set; Let Us Know You’re On the GO!!! Complete the Girl Scout Travel Approval Form and submit to info@girlscoutshs.org at least two weeks prior to your trip.
