Quapaw Canoe Company offers guided canoeing on the Mississippi River. River trips flow along with a mixture of paddling (usually not more than 1-2 hours at a stretch), exploring islands, birding, beach combing, animal tracking, napping, swimming, and whatever else is of interest to you & your friends or family! Our goal is to share the profound experience of immersion in the wild beauty of the Lower Mississippi River.
From Day Trips to Multi-Day adventures. We arrive as visitors, and respect the landscape and the river as such, the home of the richest biota in the heart of our country, including superlative birds, fish, crustaceans, and amphibians. Micro-biotas on the Mississippi include deep water, shallow water, forests, wetlands, sandbars, and meadows.
No previous experience is necessary. All paddle together with expert guide in 29-foot voyageur style canoes. Expert female guides are on board any educational trips or adventures with groups of Girl Scouts.
Capacity: 6-10 paddlers. We provide all river equipment including giant canoes, paddles, life jackets, 1st aid kits, and all necessary safety and rescue gear.
Home base is Clarksdale, MS, but we have an outpost in Vicksburg, MS, and a partner in Memphis. We service and operate on the entire Lower Mississippi River (from Kentucky down to Louisiana!). We operate year-round, but best weather months are September-October, April-May.
